4月15日，有網民發視頻稱，廣東惠東縣一罐車的管道連接滿是污泥的溝渠。附近村民稱，該處溝渠經常被堆放大量垃圾，且最近溝渠污泥變多，因此懷疑有人排污。
4月16日，惠東縣平山街道辦工作人員稱，罐車是在清污而非排污，是住建局在整治淤泥，之后將恢復溝渠原樣，避免繼續有垃圾堆放。惠東縣住建局工作人員證實，正在組織人員清理現場的垃圾、污水。
