Outdoor brand Patagonia has sparked online debate with its newly launched "Pay for Earth" initiative, which has quickly become a trending topic on social media.
3月30日,戶外品牌Patagonia(巴塔哥尼亞)開啟“地球使用費(fèi)”活動(dòng)。
簡(jiǎn)言之,自4月份開始,消費(fèi)者在該品牌官方旗艦店購(gòu)買衣服后,首件商品將收取運(yùn)費(fèi)15元,每增加一件增加5元,若顧客沒有退貨,店鋪將退還費(fèi)用;若顧客退/換貨,將扣除15元運(yùn)費(fèi),所有未被退還的快遞費(fèi)用將捐贈(zèng)給環(huán)保公益項(xiàng)目。
Starting in April, customers shopping at the brand's official flagship store will be charged a shipping fee of 15 yuan for the first item, with an additional 5 yuan for each extra item. If customers keep their purchases, the shipping fee will be refunded. If they return or exchange items, a 15-yuan fee will be deducted. All non-refunded shipping fees will be donated to environmental projects.

以購(gòu)買2件產(chǎn)品為例,顧客將支付20元運(yùn)費(fèi);若最終退/換貨2件,品牌方將不會(huì)退還運(yùn)費(fèi);若最終退/換貨1件,品牌方會(huì)退還5元運(yùn)費(fèi);若沒有產(chǎn)生退/換貨,品牌方將退還20元運(yùn)費(fèi),2件以上,以此類推。

該品牌方在社媒發(fā)布14頁(yè)內(nèi)容解釋“地球使用費(fèi)”,提到2025年雙11期間,退貨率高達(dá)69.7%;2023-2025年巴塔哥尼亞天貓旗艦店因發(fā)貨產(chǎn)生了190.36噸碳排放,因退貨產(chǎn)生的快遞導(dǎo)致了40.9噸碳排放……
In a 14-page statement explaining the initiative, Patagonia said that during the 2025 Singles Day shopping festival, its return rate reached 69.7 percent. Between 2023 and 2025, shipments from its Tmall flagship store generated 190.36 tons of carbon emissions, with returns accounting for a further 40.9 tons.
在最后,品牌方還表示,這不是一張冷冰冰的運(yùn)費(fèi)調(diào)整通知,而是邀請(qǐng)消費(fèi)者購(gòu)買前三思,退貨前也三思。
The brand said the policy is intended not only to address shipping costs, but also to encourage customers to reconsider purchases and returns. Public reaction has been mixed.
