US President Donald Trump's director of the National Counterterrorism Center, Joe Kent, announced his immediate resignation Tuesday, citing the decision to begin a war against Iran when "Iran posed no imminent threat to our nation."
肯特在社交媒體上發布一封致特朗普的公開信，信中寫道：“我決定辭去國家反恐中心主任一職，即日起生效。我無法昧著良心支持正在進行的伊朗戰爭。伊朗并未對我國構成迫在眉睫的威脅，而且很明顯，這場戰爭是迫于以色列及其在美強大游說集團的壓力而發動的。”
Kent posted his resignation letter on X Tuesday morning. "I cannot in good conscience support the ongoing war in Iran," Kent wrote. "Iran posed no imminent threat to our nation, and it is clear that we started this war due to pressure from Israel and its powerful American lobby."
