Circles of Hair, a vibrant salon in Perth’s inner-city Subiaco, is State of Kin’s bold reinvention of an industrial space. Building on the existing industrial bones, the design layers steel and glass, infusing it with the playful energy of the 1980s Memphis movement through bold colors, shapes, and materials. This 230m2 salon rejects conventional partitions—instead, color punctuates functional areas, creating subtle separation while maintaining an open, buzzing atmosphere. Sleek workspaces add a touch of refinement, balancing edginess with comfort for both stylists and clients.

位于珀斯市中心郊區蘇比亞科的 “發絲之圓”（Circles of Hair）美發沙龍，是 State of Kin 建筑事務所對工業風空間的大膽重塑。設計在原有工業骨架基礎上，疊加鋼材與玻璃材質，借鑒 20 世紀 80 年代孟菲斯運動的活力基因，以大膽的色彩、造型與材質注入趣味。這座 230 平方米的沙龍摒棄傳統隔斷，轉而用色彩點綴功能區域，在實現空間分區的同時，保持了開闊熱鬧的氛圍。流暢利落的工作區增添精致感，在前衛格調與舒適體驗間找到平衡，兼顧發型師與顧客的需求。

The Memphis movement’s spirit shines through every detail, celebrating bold contrasts and playful geometry. Curves (echoing the “circles” in the salon’s name) dance alongside sharp angles, while vibrant hues pop against the industrial steel and glass backdrop. This design language isn’t just aesthetic—it’s a narrative of self-expression, mirroring the salon’s mission to help clients embrace their unique style. The space feels alive with energy, encouraging creativity and connection, as stylists craft looks amid a backdrop that’s as dynamic as the hairstyles they create.

孟菲斯運動的精神貫穿每一處細節，彰顯大膽對比與趣味幾何美學。曲線元素（呼應沙龍名稱中的 “圓”）與利落棱角相映成趣，鮮艷色彩在工業風鋼材與玻璃背景下格外奪目。這種設計語言不止于美學表達，更承載著自我表達的敘事，與沙龍助力顧客展現獨特風格的使命不謀而合。空間充滿鮮活活力，激發創意與聯結，發型師在與他們打造的發型同樣靈動的環境中，為顧客塑造專屬造型。

Industrial heritage meets contemporary flair in the material palette—steel frames add structural edge, while glass introduces transparency and lightness. The layered use of these materials honors the space’s past while propelling it into the present, creating a timeless yet trendy backdrop. Every surface feels intentional: cool steel contrasts with soft textiles in styling stations, and glossy glass reflects the salon’s vibrant colors, enhancing the sensory experience. This blend of industrial grit and playful sophistication makes the salon stand out in Subiaco’s bustling scene.

材質選擇上，工業底蘊與當代格調碰撞交融 —— 鋼框架賦予空間結構感與前衛氣息，玻璃則增添通透感與輕盈感。這些材質的疊加運用既尊重空間的過往，又推動其邁向當下，打造出兼具永恒感與潮流感的背景。每一處表面都暗藏巧思：造型區的冷硬鋼材與柔軟織物形成對比，光滑玻璃反射著沙龍的鮮艷色彩，豐富感官體驗。工業風的粗獷與趣味精致的融合，讓這家沙龍在蘇比亞科熱鬧的場景中脫穎而出。

Functionality is woven into the design’s playful exterior, with every zone tailored to support the salon’s operations. Styling stations are strategically arranged to maximize workflow, while color-blocked waiting areas offer a cozy retreat for clients. The open layout fosters communication between stylists, enhancing collaboration, while the subtle color separation ensures privacy during services. This balance of form and function turns the salon into a well-oiled machine—efficient yet inviting, where practicality never compromises on style.

趣味外表之下，功能性被深度融入設計，每個區域都為沙龍運營量身定制。造型工位的布局經過精心規劃，以優化工作流程；色彩分區的等候區則為顧客提供舒適的休憩空間。開放式布局促進發型師之間的溝通協作，而巧妙的色彩分區又能保障服務時的私密性。這種形式與功能的平衡，讓沙龍成為高效運轉的空間 —— 既實用又具吸引力，實用主義從未犧牲格調。
