11月7日，2025年德國電影展開幕式在北京百老匯電影中心舉行。開幕式上，德國電影協會總經理西蒙娜·鮑曼女士（Simone Baumann）、德國電影協會中國代表安珂女士（Anke Redl）、北京德國文化中心·歌德學院（中國）院長歐彬先生（Robin Mallick）及德國駐華使館代表表達了對此次影展順利舉辦的祝賀。

德國電影展由德國電影協會和北京德國文化中心·歌德學院（中國）聯合舉辦，并得到了德國駐華大使館及領事館的支持。

德國電影協會中國代表安珂女士宣布了影展開幕并向到場的嘉賓及觀眾表示了歡迎。德國電影展來到第十三屆，致力于向觀眾展現德國電影的多樣性。今年以懸疑驚悚片《歇斯底里》（

本屆德國電影展開幕片是穆罕默德·阿基夫·布尤卡塔萊（Mehmet Akif Büyükatalay）導演的《歇斯底里》。影片以一場意外事件為導火索，尖銳地探討了影像的力量，以及社會認知、心理投射與集體癔癥之間的微妙博弈。本片入圍了第75屆柏林國際電影節全景單元，并獲得“歐洲電影獎”。影片放映后，本片主演黛芙姆·林瑙（Devrim Lingnau Islamo?lu）也在線上與觀眾進行交流。

本屆德國電影展與往年一樣，十分榮幸地邀請到了兩位資深電影研究者——李迅、車琳出任影展的選片顧問，他們立足中德文化交流，連接歷史與當下，對本次展映的德國影片給出專業而獨到的見解。

一直以來，德國電影協會致力于在全世界推廣德國電影。德國電影展舉辦至今，已經展映了上百部影片（影院展映單元及特別放映單元），影片類型多樣，包含了劇情片、紀錄片、喜劇、驚悚、實驗影像、互動電影等。德國電影展旨在持續地為中國觀眾帶來最新的德語新作，為身處兩國的影迷和創作者搭建交流的平臺。

On November 7th, the 2025 Festival of German Cinema, presented by German Films and Goethe-Institut China, opened at the Broadway Cinematheque Beijing. At the opening ceremony, Ms. Simone Baumann, Managing Director of German Films, Ms. Anke Redl, German Films Representative in China, Mr. Robin Mallick, Director of Goethe-Institut China, and a representative from the German Embassy in Beijing, expressed their best wishes for the festival.

Host of the evening, Anke Redl welcomed everyone to the opening ceremony of the 2025 and thanked everyone for coming. This is the 13th edition of the Festival of German Cinema in China, and every year, the Festival manages to show the diversity of German films. This is also the first time that the Festival opens with a dark thriller – Hysteria.

Representative from the German Embassy in Beijing mentioned that the 2024 FGC open with Empty Nets from Iranian director Behrooz Karamizade, and the this year, the opening film is from an director of Turkish-German descent. This reflects the reality of the German society, which welcomes people from different cultures and with diverse religions. It’s important to show the world a new image of Germany through the medium of art.

Simone Baumann sent her greetings through a video and expressed her gratitude for the organizers of the festival, including German Films, Goethe-Institut China, Broadway Cinemas, and the advisory board of the festival.

Robin Mallick said that it is delightful that the Festival is taking a tour around China. After Beijing, the Festival will open soon in Nanjing, Hangzhou and Chengdu, and he encouraged the audience to take this opportunity and explore as many films as possible during the upcoming weeks.

The 2025 Festival of German Cinema opened with HYSTERIA by Mehmet Akif Büyükatalay, a piercing reflection on the power of images and the dynamics of perception, projection and societal hysteria. The film has won the Label Europa Cinemas Award at the 75th Berlin International Film Festival – Panorama section. After the screening, lead actress Devrim Lingnau Islamo?lu joined the audience online for a Q&A session.

This year's Programme features 12 new releases that stood out at major film festivals or achieved impressive box office success in Germany. Tom Tykwer's LIGHT reflects a chaotic and dysfunctional social landscape through eerie visual imagery; WHAT MARIELLE KNOWS, Golden Bear nominee at the 2025 Berlinale, shatters the fragile balance of a bourgeois family with a witty satire; Anatol Shuster's CHAOS AND SILENCE, which has won him Best Director at the 2024 Warsaw Film Festival, explores unexpected bonds between neighbors, and calls for human compassion and unity.

Additionally, the Festival is presenting multiple documentaries exploring diverse themes this year. THE MOELLN LETTERS unravels the untold stories of victims from a racist arson attack through hundreds of letters of solidarity that had been ignored for nearly three decades; PRIDE AND ATTITUDE features the confident and empowered women workers who embarked on their careers in East Germany, and their stories during a transformative era; CIRCUSBOY follows the extraordinary life of a circus family in all its reality and magic, capturing a young boy‘s experience growing up among an extended family and animals.

As in previous years, the Festival is honored to have invited two scholars from China - Li Xun and Che Lin - to serve as advisors for this year's festival. They have provided professional insights into the films to be screened based on cultural exchange between China and Germany, connecting the past and the present.

Since its inception, the Festival of German Cinema in China has screened many films (in the Cinema Section and the Special Screening Section) in a wide range of genres, including drama, documentary, comedy, thriller, experimental video and interactive film. German Films in China aims to continuously bring the latest German-language releases to Chinese audiences and to build a platform for exchange between movie fans and creators in both countries.
